It's Going to Work

At last, I'm confident not only that I'll be able to reach 50,000 words, but that my story will be long enough. I'm at about 37,000 words now, and I'm only just getting into the second part of the story. I don't think I'll be able to finish the story in November (though 50K looks good) so my next challenge is to not stop writing like a fiend once November is over and actually finish the story.

That's a great point. I'm also going to resolve to sit down to write at least 3-4 times a week once NaNo is over. It's been wonderful rediscovering the pure job of putting ideas down on paper (well, words on screen) and I had forgotten how much I enjoyed that all my life - till hubby, kids, and middle age intervened, that is.

Good for you for getting to 50K soon - congrats!!

Congratulations!

I'm kind of stuck. I chose an awfully difficult story that is a bit too close to home.

While the first part of my story was emotionally difficult, the resolve, is more so, because I'm trying to write from a place of lack of experience ..or rather refusal (wow) of experience.

Gee, hadn't thought of it that way till just now. Going to go sulk in my corner and think about that for a while and ponder what I'm doing in therapy.
